InvolvementFor more than 20 years, Home Fermenter Center has been proud to support brewers and winemakers in Oregon's Southern Willamette Valley and beyond. More than twenty of our regular customers have gone on to become commercial brewers and winemakers. Another established the nationally-recognized magazine, Brewing Techniques. And many of our customers are members of the Cascade Brewers Society, one of the oldest homebrew clubs in the nation.

Home Fermenter Center has been organizer and superintendent of the Wine and Beer Department of the Lane County Fair (Lane County, Oregon) for the past 15 years. Entrants from all over the region vie for top honors in the various categories, and are judged by local experts, including Home Fermenter Center owner Jim Stockton, a Certified National Beer Judge.
Here are the 2000 Lane County Fair winners, in the following categories:
One of the oldest homebrewing clubs in the United States, the Cascade Brewers Society has offered brewers in Oregon's Southern Willamette Valley a friendly and encouraging environment in which to hone their skills and have fun doing it.
Home Fermenter Center is proud of our association with the Cascade Brewers Society, which originated and sponsors the Eugene Winter's Best Brewfest, a benefit beer festival for the Muscular Dystrophy Association featuring selected beers and breweries from the United States and Canada with an emphasis on Winter and Holiday beer styles. We're hopeful that the Cascade Brewers Society will have its own World Wide Web site soon!
